What a beautiful morning we had today. I hung out on the dock to catch some of the fishermen to come back. There were some nice fish. Joanne Jacobson caught a 9.7 lb. and Bill Keith caught a 15.4 lb. Chinook. While on the subject of fish, we have our August Heat Derby starting on Monday. This is such an added bonus to anyone’s fishing trip. Every boat that goes out fishing is automatically enter to win a grand prize of a 3 day/2 night return fishing package at Painter's Lodge. Sign me up! Even better our “daily bonus” prize for the largest fish to hit the dock every day is a free night at Painter’s Lodge or April Point.
I saw lots of traffic coming in and out of the April Point Marina today; boats and seaplanes coming and going.
I have to admit I finally took the time to check out the gift shop. We have some awesome merchandise. My favourite was “soap for your bloke”. A hand crafted bar of soap from Quadra Island, made with beer and honey. What guy wouldn’t like to show with beer?
I uploaded some of the pictures taken by the dock crew. I found some awesome pictures of the amazing sunset that Quadra Island gets to experience on a clear evening….WOW. What a great place to sit and have a beverage in the evening.
