Well, my goodness you'd think we were a fish processing company-or a fishing resort at the least!
We've had fish pouring in from all parts of the water including Deepwater Bay, Browns Bay, Red Can, Davis Point, and the Hump. What kind of fish you ask? Beautifully ones! Ranging from itty bitty pinks to big and bold chinooks. We were (happily) swamped here this weekend with Victoria Times Colonist, and I'm sure they'll have a few front page stories to tell everyone back at home.
Congrats to Rick Robinson who won the derby with his shiny 24lbs Chinook. Margaret Long took a piece of the cake coming in second with her 22.5 pounder. Both Cathy Cousins and Rick Edett were close with their 19.5lbs(Cathy) and 17.5lbs (Rick) 'nooks.
All in all it was an awesome turnout. We had a total of 27 fishy friends pop up on the dock, and in fact, they liked it here so much and made so many friends, they've split up and are leaving with guests. Sadly, they're all probably going to be eaten apon arrival. But hey if you can't eat your fishy friend, eat your friends fishy.
We have to say goodbye to our friends from Times Colonist today, wishing them safe trips home and welcoming them back soon! They were a blast to be around and really made work, well, not seem like work.
The sun is shining, the fish are biting, life's tough.
