Catch Care
Every salmon fishing trip at Painter’s Lodge and April Point Resort & Spa comes with complimentary professional care for your catch. No more fish guts and fillet knives – all you need to do is fish.
Once you return the dock, your fish will be cleaned and refrigerated during your stay with us. Freezing is also available for extended stays. When you're ready to go home, we can provide Oak Bay Marine Group fish boxes and gel packs to help you transport your salmon home. If you are driving, we recommend that you bring a cooler to transport your catch.
If you would like to have your salmon canned or smoked, we can arrange for your fish to be transported to St. Jean's Cannery in Nanaimo at a reasonable cost. St. Jean's offers a wide variety of processing options, and will forward your fish directly to you once it is ready.
