Here’s a quick overview of some notable events in 2010.

May 14 to 16 – Photographers at Painter’s

Hone your skills at this fun-filled photography weekend. Expert instructors and stunning scenery combine to make for a week sure to please any shutterbug.

May 29 to 30 – Painters at Painter’s Celebration of Art

Our annual celebration of local artists with many of British Columbia’s finest artists in attendance. Watch the masters at work, attend lectures, demonstrations, workshops and panel discussions, and view an impressive collection of art in our exhibits. Weekend and day passes are available.

June 25-28 – Painter’s Lodge Women’s Salmon Fishing Derby

The annual Women’s Derby at Painter’s Lodge is attended by women from across North America, competing for prizes and participating in numerous exciting events.

End of June – Campbell River Garden Tour

This annual tour of Campbell River’s finest gardens and lawns is a favourite for any gardening enthusiast. From pagoda style gazebos to mountain themed landscapes, you are sure to find inspiration for your own home plot. Enjoy many local artists' work in various gardens as well.

July 1st – Canada Day

Celebrate the birth or our nation on the patio at Painter’s Lodge, or check out the festivities at Discovery Pier in Campbell River.

Early July – Transformations on the Shore

Witness art develop before your eyes in elaborate wood carvings on the Pacific shoreline. Local carvers shape logs into works of art to be displayed all throughout Campbell River for the year.

Early July – Children’s Festival

The largest single day festival for children on Vancouver Island includes dozens of hands–on activities, displays, street performances, and clowns. Located on Shoppers Row right in front of the Tidemark Theatre, join in the fun and excitement with special guests and activities the whole family can enjoy.

July 15 – Traditional Tyee Pool Salmon Fishing

Try your hand at traditional rowboat angling at Painter’s Lodge, which opens today, and see if you can become a member of the prestigious Tyee Club of British Columbia.

Early August – Salmon Festival and Loggers Sports

Campbell River’s largest annual festival offers merriment, entertainment and activities for all.

Early September – Chum Salmon Fishing

The annual Chum salmon runs begin, and the Chinook, Coho, Sockeye and Pink runs continue.

September 15 – Tyee Pool salmon fishing closes.

October 1 to 11 – Octoberfish Chum Salmon Derby

Take on the fall salmon runs and you could win some serious prizes. (Painter's Lodge only.)
